Tartans in Film: The Story of “The Iron Giant”

Event Details

Tartans in Film Banner

Movies play a central role in our lives. They stir our emotions. They move us to the edge of our seats. They touch our hearts. Tartans in Film puts the spotlight on films that feature Carnegie Mellon University alumni. Join us to celebrate the work that happens on and off the screen of our favorite films.

What if the “The Iron Giant” had been a rock opera set in England? Dietrich alumna Laura Harkcom, who worked on the beloved animated film, explains how storytelling can shape the entertainment landscape. Listen in as she discusses the art of crafting a story - and shares a secret scene that was cut from “The Iron Giant.”
