DET - 1000plus Day of Service with Forgotten Harvest Food Rescue

Event Details

In light of public health concerns about the coronavirus, Carnegie Mellon is acting out of an abundance of caution and postponing all events through the end of the academic year. We look forward to rescheduling soon. We will issue refunds for any event that had a charge.

For our 1000plus Day of Service event this year, the Detroit and Southeast Michigan Network team will again be partnering with Forgotten Harvest to "rescue food" at the end of the Lipari Food industry trade show. This is a great opportunity to make a huge impact in a small amount of time while also burning a few calories. Join fellow CMU alumni and friends, along with 100 or so other volunteers, to gather and pack food products and samples left over from the exhibit/vendor tables and booths at the end of the show. This is Forgotten Harvest’s largest food show rescue of the year and is held at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Volunteers will work at their own pace but must be at least 18 years of age, be able to lift 30 lbs, and be on their feet for the two or so hour event.
